The ALC898 features secondary S/PDIF-OUT output and converter that transport digital audio output to a High Definition Media Interface (HDMI) transmitter. ![]() Support for 16/20/24-bit S/PDIF input and output with up to 192kHz sample rate offers easy connection of PCs to consumer electronic products such as digital decoders and speakers. All analog I/Os can be re-tasked according to user’s definitions. The ALC898 incorporates Realtek proprietary converter technology to achieve 110dB Signal-to-Noise ratio (SNR) playback (DAC) quality and 104dB SNR recording (ADC) quality, and is designed for Windows Vista premium desktop and laptop systems.Īll analog I/O are input and output capable, and headphone amplifiers are also integrated at eight analog output ports (port-A to port-H). Two stereo ADCs and one stereo digital microphone converter are integrated and can support a microphone array with Acoustic Echo Cancellation (AEC), Beam Forming (BF), and Noise Suppression (NS) technologies. The ALC898 provides ten DAC channels that simultaneously support 7.1 sound playback, plus 2 channels of independent stereo sound output (multiple streaming) through the front panel stereo outputs. Anyway, thanks for your reply and Steve’s too.The ALC898 is a multi-channel High Definition Audio Codec with Realtek proprietary loss-less content protection technology that protects pre-recorded content while still allowing full-rate audio enjoyment from DVD audio, Blu-ray DVD, or HD DVD discs. I’ve helped the IT Dept many times with no expectations but now I asked them to help me and they balk. When they do, I too will put conditions on their request: fix my audio. At this point, I can’t do anything without their permission but in time they will come to my shop asking for help on some issue. I tried to see if it was working but the IT department put a block in my attempts -or anyone else- to find out. Our IT guy never bothered to tell me it was already in. To my surprise, this video showed me that I indeed have the Realtek Driver installed- version 6. I saw a you tube video titled "Realtek HD Audio Manager Windows 10 not showing (FIXED). This worked great with Audacity but it I now have my amplifier plugged in my speakersound bar because its the only way I get sound from my amplifier but I lost my ability to use Audacity. Before my computer was reformatted, I plugged my vintage audio amplifier into the 3.5mm headphone jack on the front of my computer. ![]()
